How we work

    How we work with you

You can hire us for one specific project or keep us on as an ongoing operating partner. Either way, it starts with a conversation about your business. Then we agree on the scope, who does what and the terms.

    The rule we work by

Every piece of work is tied to a number before we start.

We name the number it should move and when you should see it move. If we can't name the number, we tell you, and we don't do the work.

    Start with a Walkthrough

The Walkthrough is free. We talk about your business, what you want from it, and any deal or problem already on the table.

If we're a fit, we'll tell you the work we'd recommend and how we'd set up the engagement. If we can't help, we'll say so.

    A specific project

You can hire us for one defined piece of work. It can be finding a company to buy, raising money, getting ready to sell, or a growth or operations project. We set the scope and the milestones around that job.

You don't need a Blueprint before we talk about a specific project.

    An ongoing operating partnership

The first engagement runs 90 days. We assess the business, agree on the priorities with you and start the work. The Blueprint puts what we found and the plan in writing.

You get one engagement lead and an agreed work plan that says who does what. Each piece of work has a number it should move, and we review progress with you every two weeks. Before the 90 days are up, we agree on what comes next.

When the work calls for technology, our sister firm, Omnira Systems, builds it and connects it to the software you use. Your team gets trained, and you keep the same engagement lead.

    The Blueprint

The Blueprint is our assessment of your business and our plan of action. It sets out the priorities, the work involved and how we'll measure progress. In an operating partnership, we write it as the work begins and update it as we learn more.

If you want an assessment before deciding on anything bigger, we can scope that on its own.

See the seven areas we assess

    Capital

Capital, when your plan calls for it.

You can hire us for a financing need on its own, or make it part of an operating partnership. We use our connections to find the right funding partner, whether that's private credit, conventional debt, an SBA loan or the right equity partner. In the right business, we'll come in as an equity partner ourselves and help operate it.

    Fees

    How engagements are structured

Most engagements start with a monthly retainer or a project fee. Depending on the work, the terms can also include a success fee or a share of equity. We agree on the scope, the fees and any other terms before work begins.

The 90 days is the first stretch of an operating partnership. It isn't a deadline for closing a deal or a loan.

It starts with a conversation about your business.
